Misson:HI works in around sixty countries in emergency, reconstruction, chronic crisis and development contexts. Since 1982, the association has worked alongside vulnerable populations, particularly people with disabilities. This fight is guided by HI’s vision, mission and values. Our vision Outraged at the injustice experienced by disabled people and vulnerable populations, we aspire to a united and inclusive world, where all differences enrich us and where everyone can “live on their feet” Our mission HI is an independent and impartial international solidarity organization, which intervenes in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflicts and disasters. Working alongside disabled people and vulnerable populations, she acts and testifies to meet their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights. HI has been present in Nepal since 2000 with General agreement with government of Nepal. HI in Nepal trains teachers and promotes access to education for children with special education needs, such as autism, particularly children with disabilities in several districts. HI also provides support to young girls and teenage girls with disabilities from the most disadvantaged communities by promoting their access to education. In addition, the organisation supports five rehabilitation centres in Nepal, enabling thousands of people in the country to benefit from physiotherapy and orthopaedic fitting, and works to improve rehabilitation services in earthquake-affected districts.
